BB-8 is a robot character in the Star Wars franchise, first appearing in the 2015 movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It is a sphere-shaped robot with a free-moving domed head. BB-8 is portrayed by both a rod puppet and a remote-controlled robotic unit.[1][2] It is similar to R2-D2. It's owner is Poe Dameron. It is voiced by Bill Hader.
